"the tragic farce of a man and administration whose incompetence was exceeded only by its neocon military interventionist policies and its right wing domestic zealotry. The underlying strategies, ideology, pronouncements and actions of the "Bush the Second era" were a combination of deadly action, socially reactionary rhetoric and a general dimwittedness that boggled the mind. Bush himself was the epitome of the verbally pratfalling underachiever - a patrician buffoon - who only made it to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue as a result of affirmative action for scions of the wealthy and ideological supporters on the Supreme Court, where he was "elected" to office by five elitist votes."

Republicans Celebrate Veterans Day By Dishonoring Veterans In Word And Deed
http://www.politicususa.com/2014/11/11/republicans-dishonor-veterans-word-deed.html
"It is true that Republicans hold the entire population in contempt, but naming legislation that is a gift to corporations a jobs bill to “Hire More Heroes,” without providing one job has to be the ultimate act of contempt. Members of the Armed Services deserve unrestricted support during their service to this country, something Republicans oppose unconditionally; including suggesting giving Veterans a coupon as a replacement for V.A. benefits. It is shameful enough, and an abomination, that thousands of active duty service members require food stamps to support their families, but to be used by Republicans to enrich corporations is despicable."

"On November 3, students at Florida State University marched to Florida’s capitol protesting the dramatic influence that corrupt corporate donors have on our public education system, from contracts between FSU’s Department of Economics and the Charles Koch Foundation to the recent decision by a Koch-influenced Board of Trustees to appoint a three-time Koch-funded politician as president of FSU. FSU’s fight has inspired students across the country to #UnKoch their campuses. On Monday, we were joined by twenty-seven other campuses, from George Mason to Temple to Oregon, where students are raising their voices and passing resolutions to demand transparency and integrity. Together, we stand against “strings attached” funding that violates academic freedom by placing limitations and expectations on research outcomes and instruction."

"How has this become a political issue? Is this how divided we’ve become? Even when it comes to access to the internet, apparently we have to make it into a left vs. right argument. Oh, I know why – because President Obama dared to say that net neutrality is important and jackasses like Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) feel the need to oppose anything and everything the president says. Not only that, but Republicans are shills for big business and these giant cable conglomerates really want to kill net neutrality.
Net neutrality should be one of the few things where there’s absolutely no debate among American consumers and politicians."

"I said earlier that there are two casualties in the Fox News-based assault on reason, yet I failed to mention a third: democracy. We’ve just witnessed the result of an election fueled by negativity and disinformation, and people are afraid. These fears are overblown, to say the least, but we are being intentionally manipulated by conservative voices that thrive on fear to win elections or ratings. To their enduring shame, they have no concern for the damage they do to institutions and people when playing to the worst instincts of humanity."

The Republican Party and the Great Conservative Long Con
"And how exactly are Republicans for “small government”? Last time I checked Republican legislatures all over this country were passing laws that massively expanded government over our voting process, women’s bodies, gay rights and marriage. Then let’s not forget that this was the party that passed the Patriot Act – one of the largest “big government bills” in United States history. The truth is conservatives are for “small government” when it benefits something they support (guns, religion, big oil) but they love big government when it can be used to their benefit. But it’s all okay, because Republicans have managed to tie in religion with their propaganda so that conservatives won’t think about the lies they’re being told. To many conservatives, being a Republican is tied in directly with their religious beliefs. They’ll never question their politics because that would be like questioning their religion, and that’s a big no-no for Christian conservatives. But all of this right-wing rhetoric is tied into their elaborate long con. They’re constantly promising balanced budgets, fiscal responsibility, tax cuts that lead to economic prosperity, and it will all happen…someday. It’s coming. They promise. Just keep electing them and eventually they promise to deliver on these nearly 40-year-old promises. Except, of course, they never will. And that’s how cons work; they promise everything, deliver nothing, and sadly tens of millions of Americans continue to fall for it."

John Boehner Plans To Help The Middle Class By Taking Away Healthcare and Raising Gas Prices
http://www.politicususa.com/2014/11/08/john-boehner-vows-middle-class-healthcare-raising-gas-prices.html
"Speaker Boehner’s jobs bills aren’t really jobs bills. The 40+ pieces of legislation that the House calls jobs bills are a collection of regulatory rollbacks, tax breaks, and benefits for corporations. There isn’t a single job creation plan in their list of jobs bills. What the Republican jobs bills are missing is jobs.
Rep. Boehner was lying about the impact of the Keystone XL pipeline. The project would do the exact opposite of what Boehner suggested. Keystone XL will only create 2,000 temporary jobs, and it will raise the cost of gas by ten to twenty cents a gallon in the Midwest.
A return to the 40-hour work week is a stealth attack on the Affordable Care Act. The impact of what the Republicans are proposing is that 1 million working Americans would lose their employer provided health insurance. So far, Republicans have offered the American people tax breaks for corporations, a loss of health insurance and higher gas prices.
The American people are about to get what the Koch brothers paid for when they bought the Senate for the GOP. The Republican agenda is focused solely on benefitting their donors, and Boehner’s efforts “for the middle class” will almost certainly make millions of lives worse."

The GOP’s poisonous double-speak: Thomas Frank on how Republicans hijacked the midterms
"The point of the Tea Party movement, back in 2009 and 2010, was to attach this anger to the free-market philosophy. Tea Partyers figured out a way to oppose the bailouts even though Republicans had passed them. They mimicked the protest fashions of the 1930s even though that was a period uniquely lousy for Republicans. They screamed about what they called “the ruling class” even though their bad ideas would only empower our economic rulers. And taking the novels of Ayn Rand as inspiration, they hijacked the populist sensibility on behalf of the “job creators” — the poor, disrespected billionaires, your comrades in suffering.
In their mission of rescuing free-market orthodoxy after free-market orthodoxy had crashed the global economy, the Tea Party succeeded. They don’t hold protests in parks anymore, but their distinctive species of cultural theft persists nevertheless; it will go on until economic conditions on the ground improve or until the genuine owners of the populist tradition finally take it back from them."

As will the rest of them. Chuck isn't all that different from his peers. And in 2016, we will all hear campaigns about how the eight-year nightmare of terror that is the Obama administration is coming to a close, while no one actually tells the truth at a national level.

"The hardline conservatives are running the show when it comes to immigration, and without any sort of manufactured crisis point to force the rest of the GOP to act, there’s no reason to think any sort of real reform will pass. That, combined with the fecklessness of the House leadership, offers yet more incentive for the White House to just go ahead and do what they can through executive action.
Reince Priebus can go on blaming Obama for comprehensive immigration reform’s failure to his heart’s content, but the party’s demographic troubles haven’t gone away. And going by his own post-2012 analysis, Priebus’ is only making them worse."
