GOP Set To Spend 80% Of House Budget On More Stupid Abortion Hearings
GOP Set To Spend 80% Of House Budget On More Stupid Abortion Hearings
"Rewire reports that Blackburn's House committee will wind up spending $790,000 on this political witch hunt, using nearly 80 percent of the House’s available supplemental funding for the one investigation. Meanwhile, Zika funding is on hold in the Republican Senate, and House Speaker Paul Ryan actually bragged that his body's inaction on Zika (which forced the Obama adminstration to transfer money for Ebola to Zika) meant that "not a single taxpayer dollar is used to fund abortions.” Holding back funding for a rapidly spreading virus that causes severe birth defects, forcing poor women with this virus to give birth to a severely deformed child, and instead spending three quarters of a million dollars on a clearly partisan vote-getter witch hunt against the number one provider of health care for women: that's the Republican Congress. War on women? Ya think?"

Trump finally has an opinion on the Supreme Court's abortion ruling, and it is satisfyingly stupid

"So to sum up, Donald Trump's opinion on the Supreme Court ruling—and mind you, there was nothing in this entire exchange to suggest that Donald Trump knows what the ruling was, or what it was about, or even the slightest bit of information beyond the vague understanding that conservatives didn't like it—is that it would have happened differently under President Trump because magic, and if it didn't happen differently it wouldn't be his fault because you can't trust them darn judges anyway. You could have asked him to voice an opinion on any other Supreme Court ruling, including ones you just made up to see if he was paying attention, and I'd wager the response would be the exact same generic words arranged in the exact same generic way. What did you think of the court's decision in Godzilla v. Larry’s Diner & Rib Shack et al, Mr. Trump?"

Family Research Council Tries To Stop Bill Helping Vets Access Fertility Services:
"The Family Research Council, which routinely maligns gay military service members, is now attacking a bill that would make it easier for veterans to access fertility services if they have been wounded in combat, claiming that it undermines “pro-life” principles."

O’Reilly Can’t Remember The Last Time An Abortion Clinic Was Attacked: Here Are A Few Examples

"From 1977-2014, 6,948 incidents of violence have been reported at abortion clinics, including the Nov. 27 deadly shooting at a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic that was inspired by false claims that alleged the network of clinics illegally sold “baby parts.” Reproductive health clinics have faced a surge of violent threats following conservative media’s wave of anti-abortion attacks that tailed the release of the deceptive video that inspired the Colorado shooter."

Donald Trump Is Dangerous to Women @alternet
Donald Trump Is Dangerous to Women @alternet:
"What’s more important is the fact that Trump either believes or plays to the most misogynist elements of this country, the consequences of which are very real. When asked about issues of importance—from women’s reproductive rights to whether he’s down with the KKK—he says yes and later sort of says no, a way of cynically and calculatedly playing both sides of the fence to be sure he doesn’t alienate those who see themselves in the mirror of his terribleness. (Case in point: His backpedalling on Wednesday's remarks.) He stokes anger and hatred toward women and then stands back and watches as his crowd—who were pretty hateful to being with—has their worst ideas of women confirmed and even applauded."

"Not only does he have no idea how the world works, how to run a company without massive start up capital from his father, answer a question directly, run an honest campaign or fix his mismatched concealer/foundation oompa-loompa situation, but now he wants to somehow take over running my uterus in addition to every other woman in the United States?"
